Education & Background
Dr. Alexa Connors earned her doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the American Psychological Association (APA) accredited University of La Verne. She completed her advanced clinical training at several hospitals including UCLA and Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) as a fellow in their inpatient unit, intensive outpatient program, and emergency mental health services departments.. Dr. Connors completed an APA accredited internship at UC Davis Medical Center with a focus on childhood maltreatment & trauma-focused CBT, as well as treating psychosis and thought disorders. Additionally, she received clinical training at community mental health agencies, academic medical centers, state hospitals, and juvenile justice settings.

Dr. Connors is currently a professor at The University of La Verne, teaching coursework on violence and abuse in family systems including child abuse and intimate partner violence reporting, assessment and treatment in the doctoral and masters level programs.
